About

Our Mission and Vision Statements

Our Mission:
To provide a life changing and well rounded arts education to all youth in the community of San Diego, in a positive environment.
Our Vision:
To be the premier production company of choice for young aspiring actors in San Diego County offering a full range of theatrical training.

YOUNG ACTORS’ THEATRE, a non-profit, California Corporation, is an award winner with National Youth Theatre Group and is one of the nations most progressive youth theatres. We believe that imagination, excitement, and adventure are the ingredients for a successful experience in all aspects of youth theatre.

In addition to producing five musicals a year, YOUNG ACTORS’ THEATRE is also an all-inclusive performing arts studio offering a variety of classes in voice, drama and dance.

YOUNG ACTORS’ THEATRE is dedicated to bringing professional level training to children of all ages. Classes at YAT offer the performers advanced technical skills and the productions give them the opportunity to apply what they learn in front of an audience.

Junior Division & Senior Division

YOUNG ACTORS’ THEATRE believes in giving opportunities to as many students as possible. In order to accomplish this, we have 2 student divisions: Junior Division (grades 2-8) & Senior Division (grades 8-college up to age 26.) All students are required to take a class concurrently with production enrollment in order to continue their training in the arts. Our classes are divided according to skill level.  Performers that have not taken any introductory performing classes will be required to do so as a pre-requisite to taking any intermediate and advanced level classes.  Some of our classes require approval by instructor before classes begin.  Any exceptions require Educational Administrator approval.  For additional information on our classes and schedule, please visit our “Classes” page on this website.
