Yes it is that time of the year to make your plans for the summer and Young Actors’ Theatre has something cool for every age.

Camp Details:  Cost:  $155.00 before May 25, 2012

                                              $175.00 before June 20, 2012

                                             $195.00 June 25, 2012 or after

Camps that do not have 10 or more participants may be subject to cancellation.  CAMPS AND CLASS FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE (NO CHANGES AFTER FIRST CLASS IS TAKEN)

Emperor’s New Clothes (Grades 1-6): Experience this humorous setting of this Hans Christian Anderson fairy tale “The Emperor’s New Clothes.”  Learn about the good hearted but gullible king who is duped by two cunning accountants who weave an invisible suit of clothes that only the “wise” can see.

Session II July 9, 2012 through July 13,2012

Pop Song & Dance (Grades 6-12):  Learn the moves of Hip Hop and the Vocal Styles of Pop Singing in the new and dynamic camp.  The highly intense training camp is sure to challenge even the most experience performer.

Session III July 16, 2012 through July 20,2012

The Hundred Year Snooze – The Story of Sleeping Beauty (Grades 1-6):  In this delightful story there lives a princess who possesses gifts bestowed upon her by the kingdom’s Seven Graces: beauty, wit and charm, grace and elegance, song, dance and good math skills! A smart and funny script, delightful songs, and lots of speaking parts help to create a memorable musical experience.

Session IV July 23, 2012 through July 27,2012

Dateline:  Rock & Roll (Grades 4-8):  It was the music that shook the world and launched generations of young fans. Students will celebrate the history of rock ‘n’ roll in a dazzling show that explores the music of the 50′s, 60′s, 70′s, 80′s, 90′s, 2000 and beyond. Using dialog straight from the headlines of the day, this will be a show that’s a blast to learn and perform!

Session V July 30, 2012 through August 3,2012

Pirates, the Musical (Grades 2-8): We’re off to sail the rollicking sea, pirates all are we!” But Arrrr! and Shiver me timbers! There’s a stowaway on board! Perhaps the King of the High C’s will know what to do.” Join the salty crew of colorful scallywags when Bluebeard, Yellowbeard, Whitebeard, Purplebeard – well, you get the picture – along with the No Beards, hoist the Jolly Roger and set sail for a mighty adventure!

Of course no birthday is complete with out a party . . .  Join us Saturday February 4th from 10:00 – 3:00 for fun for the whole family.  Cost is only $10 and wrist bands for all the festivities will be available at the door.

WINTER CAMP IS WHERE IT IS AT . . .

Young Actors’ Theatre will be holding their winter camp from December 19th through January 6th (closed 12/26 and 1/2) for Grades 2nd through 8th  Drop in for a day, a week or the whole three weeks.  These full day camps (8:30 AM to 4:30 PM) may just be the place for your young performer to shine and for you to do that final shopping and gift wrapping. Cost is:  $450 per student for 3 weeks, $280 per student for 2 weeks, $150 per student for 1 week or $40 per day.  During the morning your student will learn some fundamentals of musical theatre — singing, dancing and acting.  The afternoon will be spent on other activities and games.

Week 1 (12/19 – 12/23) Aladdin

Week 2 (12/27 – 12/30) Beauty & The Beast

Week 3 (1/3 through 1/6) Lion King

Omigod, America’s favorite blonde is coming to Young Actors’ Theatre !  YAT is very excited to announce the addition to our 2011 – 2012, “A Season Of Life Lessons” the smash hit, Legally Blonde.  Hitting the YAT stage in January 2012 with auditions in November 2011 we will be making some changes in the dates of our presentations of Spelling Bee, Annie, and Guys & Dolls over the next week or so.  Don’t worry the web site will be updated soon, very soon and if you want to stay in the thick of “YAT Chatter . . .
