Jean is excited to get back to her roots with the classic Beauty & the Beast!!  Her passion for this production is that it is not just a simple musical made from a cartoon.  There is depth and substance to all of the characters, which makes for a rich and creative theater experience.

 

As the founder of Young Actors’ Theatre, Jean has been working with students and theater for over 25 years.  Jean and Young Actors’ Theatre have received numerous awards including the Channel 10 Leadership Award, multiple NYA Awards, and many more.  Some of her favorite directing credits include:  Beauty & the Beast, Les Miserables, Ragtime, Hairspray, West Side Story and Fiddler on the Roof.

Jerrica is a music director and teacher who plays piano, strings and reeds with various ensembles around San Diego. This will be her 6th time participating in, and her third time as music director for Beauty and the Beast! Her previous YAT MD credits include Thoroughly Modern Millie, Into the Woods, Lion King Jr., Xanadu, and more. Her non-YAT MD credits include High School Musical, Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Urinetown, Company, I Love You You're Perfect Now Change, Vanities and more. Stage Management credits include YAT's Peter and the Starcatcher, Wizard of Oz, Annie, Mary Poppins, and Matilda, CCT's Little Mermaid, and others. 

Jerrica is very excited about rejoining Jean, Brice, and Alexa in a creative process, and can't wait to bring one of her favorite shows back to life!

Alexa is beyond thrilled and grateful to return to YAT along side her partner in crime, Brice. Fun fact, this is her third round of doing Beauty & The Beast with YAT! After graduating as captain of her high school dance team, she has gotten to continue her passion for dance by teaching. Choreographer credits include Peter Pan at MHA, Schoolhouse Rock, A Holiday to Remember, Jungle Book, High School Musical, Seussical, Annie, and YAT camps/classes. Some favorite roles include, Marcy Park (Spelling Bee), Peppermint Patty (Snoopy), Anybody's (West Side Story), Napkin/Dance Captain (Beauty & the Beast), and Pilar (Legally Blonde). While not dancing or finishing her B.A. at SDSU, you can find her down at the Historical Corvette Diner!

Brice has been dancing since he was 10 years old, studying in tap, musical theatre & jazz! After graduating, during the pandemic he was able to take classes in ballet and advanced tap. He also has been working on releasing original music soon to be out on all streaming platforms! Most recent credits include Shrek the Musical, Freaky Friday (YAT), Les Miserables & Songs for A New World (YAT). Brice is thrilled to be making his choreographer debut alongside his best friend Alexa!

After being involved in a few different areas of tech theatre for past YAT shows, Elliot is excited to stage manage Beauty and the Beast! He has loved watching friends take the stage in other productions of Beauty over the years, and is now so happy for the opportunity to be a part of this one.
