Marisa Musgrove

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Marisa Musgrove (Director) has been working in the theatre for nearly her entire life as a performer, teacher and director in and around San Diego and Los Angeles. Currently Marisa is a teaching artist and director at Coronado Playhouse, Young Actors' Theater, Grossmont High School, Fuerte Elementary School, and Flying Hills FAME programs, and has taught a variety of classes for local dance studios.  Some favorite directing/ choreography credits: Thoroughly Modern Millie, Dearly Beloved, The Miracle Worker, Parade, Guys and Dolls, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Annie, Cinderella, and up next…Once Upon A Mattress! Marisa also holds a B.A. in Liberal Studies and is attending graduate school to attain a teaching credential.

Choreographer:

Jonathan Hoagland

Jonathan has been involved with Young Actors’ Theatre for over two years. He began performing with his local high school drama and dance department, and has since fallen in love with the stage. He has had the pleasure of working on Alice in Wonderland (AC), Mulan (AC), Peter Pan (Choreographer), Addams Family (Choreographer), Honk (Choreographer) and most recently, A Holiday to Remember (Choreographer). He has also performed in YAT's productions of Aladdin (Genie), West Side Story (Shark), and Hairspray (I.Q.) Jonathan is a full time student, who loves working with the kids at YAT! He always promotes a positive YATtitude and is excited for all the things Young Actors' Theatre has in store.

Music Director:

Jim Tompkins-MacLaine

Jim began his musical theatre career as an actor at the age of eight, as a musical director at the age of fourteen, and as a director at the age of nineteen. He began his formal musical education at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, studying choral conducting and vocal performance. He then attended Arizona State University. In 1989, he was a Jeopardy champion and appeared on the Jeopardy Tournament of Champions, fulfilling a lifelong dream. He has toured the world as a singer with the Albert McNeil Jubilee Singers of Los Angeles, singing spirituals, Gospel, musical theatre and jazz. Jim operates a busy voice studio in San Diego and is the artistic director of Pacific Coast Chorale, a 75-voice community choir.

Stage Manager:

Danielle Dudley

Danielle has been involved with YAT for the past year, with her first show being the ASM for Hairspray. Danielle has been stage managing ever since high school & now is pursuing a career in stage management. She has received an Associates degree in Technical Theatre from Grossmont College & is currently working on receiving her bachelors in Theatre Arts from UCSD. Some of her past credits include: The Odyssey (Grossmont College, SM), You're a Good Man Charlie Brown (Grossmont College, SM), Kimberly Akimbo (Grossmont College, SM), The Piano Lesson (Set Designer, SM), Spring Awakening (YAT, SM), Addams Family: The Musical (YAT, SM), A Holiday to Remember (YAT, SM), Foreground: Dance Thesis Works (UCSD, ASM), Rocks in Her Pocket (UCSD, Production Assistant). Danielle is absolutely thrilled to be back & working with YAT!
