The Spongebob Musical!

 

The SpongeBob Musical is based on the beloved animated series created by Stephen Hillenburg and features a book by Kyle Jarrow, with original songs by Yolanda Adams, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith, Sara Bareilles, Jonathan Coulton, Alexander Ebert of Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, The Flaming Lips, Lady A, Cyndi Lauper, John Legend, Panic! At the Disco, Plain White T’s, They Might Be Giants and T.I., and songs by David Bowie, Tom Kenny and Andy Paley. Additional lyrics are by Jonathan Coulton, with additional music by Tom Kitt. The musical production was conceived by Tina Landau.

Chrissy Burns is a multi award winning director, producer, and choreographer. This marks her 10th show here at YAT having previously directed: 42nd Street, Puffs, Freaky Friday, Matilda, Disenchanted, Songs For A New World, Smile, Into The Woods and Snoopy. She has also directed and choreographed shows for many of San Diego’s Community and Professional Theaters as well as serving as an Associate Director at the Old Globe Theatre. Chrissy has worked as an actor in many productions throughout San Diego and beyond. She has also performed for top corporations and conventions nationwide. Chrissy is a private voice and audition coach preparing her many students for a successful career in the performing arts. She has completed the Prestigious Directors Lab West Program and continues to educate herself on the most current practices in directing and performing arts education.   SingWithChrissy.com

Jessie Burns  is thrilled to return to YAT! She was last seen working at YAT on the runaway hit, Puffs! She was last onstage at YAT performing with her wife in Songs for a New World and also served as Assistant Director for Into the Woods. She was also a YACTOR in her youth performing in shows such as Once Upon a Mattress (Queen Aggravain), A Chorus Line (Shelia), Noises Off (Dotty/Mrs. Clackett), and Grease (Cha Cha). She has also performed at numerous places in San Diego including Coronado Playhouse and OnStage Playhouse. Her favorite roles include: Sally in The Wild Party, Jo in Swingtime Canteen, and Ethel in 42nd Street. Her current residency is in the role of Crew Member at the La Mesa Trader Joe’s. She would like to thank her family for their everlasting love and support.

Olesia Winbush is no stranger to performing. She loves the joy and excitement being on stage brings. She has won awards for a number of her dance, theatre and vocal performances. She has participated in many shows at Yat including: 42nd Street, Freaky Friday, Disenchanted, Shrek the Musical, Songs for a New World, Smile and Into the Woods. She is also well versed in many styles of dance some of her favorites being Hip Hop, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Tap and Ballet. And now She is excited to share her passion for dance and  present a different side of herself to the stage through her choreography. She is thrilled to be apart of this production and hopes to be performing and choreographing for many years to come.

Natalie Gelb is happy to be returning to YAT, where she’s teched previous shows including  42nd street, Smile, and Into the Woods. Other productions she’s been involved in include Grease, Kissed the Girls and Made Them Cry, and The Adams Family at Monte Vista High School. She’s excited to dabble into the world of stage managing along side such an amazing team.
